Intro to TV News Reporting
Tape two professional news segments for a demo reel
Course DetailsLearn the basics of what it takes to be a good television news reporter, including how to structure a piece, write a killer script, deliver a live report, and conduct on-camera interviews. If you have a background in print journalism (or even if you don't), this class will provide the fundamentals to pursue a career in television journalism. Students will tape an interior report and an exterior stand-up (i.e., a "live from the scene" report). In this class, you will learn how to:
Two taped appearances. Students who have taken this class have gotten on-air jobs at: Fox Business Channel, Fox Philadelphia, WLNY-TV 55, News 12, and more. Admission Requirements: Please submit a letter of interest (including a brief work history) and your desired outcome for this class. No writing sample required.
